Dear Save Our Water members and supporters ,

First, let me say thank you to all of you who faithfully made phone calls to the fourteen Senators last week asking them not to support SB2114 as introduced.

We really appreciate your time and effort in helping to watch out for Lake Eufaula and all our Oklahoma water resources.

SB2116 was heard in the Energy and Environment Committee last Thursday.  However, there was a committee substitution in the wording of the bill and it was totally changed.

Here is what Senator Gumm had to say prior to it being heard:

“SB 2116 will be changed significantly before it is considered by the Energy Committee; it no longer will allow water to be sold without legislative approval.  We intend to use the measure as a vehicle to make changes in law that might be necessary due to the federal lawsuit pending relating to Oklahoma 's water resources.  Rest assured, I share your concerns, and thanks for contacting me.”

This message was sent to Mrs. Ada Hill from the SOWA group.

Jay Paul Gumm
Senator, District 6
